How was Tick Tock Box Born?
Tick Tock Box grew from a desire to help busy parents just like me create more quality time with their children through craft.
My lightbulb moment for Tick Tock Box came about a year ago when I was standing in a craft store looking at a packet of 1,000 pom poms wishing I was at home with my children instead.
So I came up with idea of Tick Tock Box - a themed box full of quality craft activities delivered to your door. And during the design and research period, I was often packing up small quantities of craft materials for the kids to use in restaurants and on play dates and so Tick Tock Busy Box was born. And since then, further products have been created and added to the range.
Then part way through that year, I had to take time off for unexpected surgery. Trying to keep the kids entertained while recovering made me realise just how good it would be to have a box of activities and craft materials for the kids home delivered.
My kids love doing craft but half the time I think what they love the most is having my attention and the chance to have a chat. And besides providing fun for the kids, that is what Tick Tock is about - helping to give you back some of your time so that you can spend it with your kids.
My kids also like me to make up stories but I often find that I need a ‘starting point’. The themes and projects in the Tick Tock Box also encourage exploration and make it easier to tell stories, ask questions, share knowledge and get talking in an unstructured and relaxed way.
Tick Tock Box is about providing parents with everything they need, while also encouraging them to let go a little. All that’s left for you to do is focus on the fun, let your child’s imagination run free and enjoy your time together.
Yours in a box,
